About PricklyMails

PricklyMails is an email verification API: before you send, it tells you whether an address can receive mail, and what to do with it. It is designed and built in France by Hugo Deltour, who builds and runs it on his own.

Where it comes from

The idea came while checking emails by hand before a send, guessing which addresses were dead. PricklyMails does that work for you, on one simple rule: say what was checked, say what could not be, and charge only for the checks that reached an answer.

Our principles

  • No address kept. An address stays in memory while it is verified, then only a one-way fingerprint remains.
  • Honest verdicts. When the mail server gives no way to conclude, the result says so, and the checks that got no answer are refunded.
  • Hosted in the European Union. Verification runs on our servers in Germany, with no subprocessor outside the Union.
  • Open to AI agents. A hosted MCP server lets an assistant verify an address in a single call.

Milestones

  • May 22, 2025: the idea.
  • August 29, 2026: the launch.
  • Since then: every change is listed in the changelog, and what comes next in the roadmap.
